Nature-based Solutions Bangladesh

"Communities within Bangladesh have been working with nature for many years to adapt to climatic impacts and there is a rich body of knowledge on how to implement Nature-based Solutions."

Welcome

We are a community of researchers, practitioners and policymakers working at the interface of climate change, nature conservation and sustainable development. Our mission is to enhance understanding of the importance of nature-based solutions and to scale-up their implementation in Bangladesh.

Nature-based solutions involve the protection, restoration and/or management of natural ecosystems in rural areas and cities in order to protect communities, infrastructure and agriculture from climate change impacts while drawing down carbon and supporting biodiversity.

At NbS Bangladesh, we are collating scientific evidence and evidence from practice on the effectiveness of existing nature-based solutions projects from across Bangladesh, and we are identifying areas that could benefit from the implementation of NbS in future. Our current focus is building an evidence base for the role of nature-based solutions for economic development in Bangladesh.
